Extracting Decisions, Responsible Persons, and Deadlines from Meeting Conversations

The author reports reading a meeting transcript, summarizing it, organizing decisions and action items, and saving them as a Markdown file.

How it works

  1. The author prepares the meeting conversation as a text file and provides it either to --transcript or directly as content with --text.
  2. The model structures the participants, summary, decisions, and action items with responsible persons and deadlines. The program reads this response and converts it into a meeting notes document.
  3. The default filename is meeting_notes.md. If a file with this default name already exists, the program saves a new file with a timestamp appended. The author can also specify a save path using --output.

Results

This is an example of converting a transcript into a meeting notes file that includes decisions and action items. The author notes that voice recording and transcription are not included within the scope of this code.

Notes

A user-specified --output file can be overwritten as is. The protective behavior of creating a new name only applies to the default filename, so the author should check the save path.

Extract decisions and follow-up action items from [meeting transcript text] and create meeting notes. Prepare the Python environment and API settings based on the input and file saving flow of agents/10-meeting-notes-agent. The meeting date is [confirmed date] and the result location is [new output file].

Distinguish between confirmed decisions and simple suggestions, and for each action item, link the responsible person, deadline, and the statement that served as the basis. Leave the responsible person and date as 'undecided' if not present in the original text. Improve the process so that neither the default file nor a user-specified file is overwritten if they already exist, and do not create tasks in external work tools or send to participants.

Check for conversations without a responsible person, conversations where decisions are reversed, and those with relative dates like 'next week.' Cross-check the decisions and deadlines in the meeting notes with the original text and confirm that existing files are preserved. The deliverables are the meeting notes, an action item table, supporting statements, and an additional verification list. Mark the linking of supporting statements and improved saving as newly implemented features not present in public examples.
