An Agent That Built a Storefront and Admin Panel to Replace Shopify

To replace a $35-per-month Shopify plan, the creator used Claude Code to build a storefront, admin dashboard, and order notifications.

How it works

  1. The creator built an e-commerce website from scratch with Claude Code and moved over a domain they already owned.
  2. Instead of an app, they created a single admin page as a dashboard that showed the needed information alongside the latest data imported from Shopify.
  3. They configured immediate notifications through a Telegram bot and email whenever a new order arrived. Most local customers used cash on delivery, so they did not add card payments.

Results

The creator said they saved $35 per month and were very satisfied with the result. They also said the checkout process was smooth.

Notes

The post does not provide order volume, operating period, or details about inventory and security handling. Stores that require card payments would need separate verification.

Example prompt · Claude Code

Build a storefront website, admin panel, and new-order notifications for a small online shop.

Inputs: product list [product name, price, photos, inventory], payment methods [for example: cash on delivery, bank transfer, card], current domain [address], current commerce service [for example: Shopify] and data to migrate, order-notification destinations [Telegram, email]. First, check whether product and order data can be exported from the existing service or read through an API, and whether moving the domain will cause any downtime for the current site.

Implementation steps: 1) Build product listings and detail pages, a cart, and an order form. 2) Store orders and show orders, statuses, and sales in the admin panel. 3) Send Telegram and email notifications for every new order. 4) Secure personal information and admin-panel login. Change the domain connection or cancel the existing service only after I confirm.

Deliverables: deployed site URL, admin panel, and setup guide. First submit two test orders and confirm that both appear in the admin panel and that each destination receives exactly one notification per order.
