An Agent That Found Missing Signup Tracking and Search Indexing Problems

On day 5 of a public growth log, Grok Bot found that signup tracking was missing and only 1 of 19 pages had been indexed by Google.

How it works

  1. The creator documented problems found by Grok Bot while publicly sharing the service’s growth process day by day.
  2. Grok Bot identified that signups were showing as 0 because tracking had never been configured in the first place.
  3. It also reportedly found that only 1 of 19 pages had been indexed by Google.

Results

The creator said they were fixing both problems during the current work cycle and would check the impact using the numbers on day 7.

Notes

The post does not say what data Grok Bot examined to identify the problems. Results after the fixes are not yet available.

Example prompt · Grok Bot

Check whether signups on my website are being tracked correctly and whether its pages are appearing properly in search.

Inputs: site URL [address], sitemap URL [sitemap address], analytics tool in use [for example: Google Analytics, PostHog], signup-completion page or event name [name], Search Console access [available or unavailable]. First, check whether read-only access to the analytics tool and Search Console is available. If not, inspect only what can be verified from public pages.

Audit steps: 1) Go through the signup flow once and verify that the analytics code and signup event are actually sent. 2) Compare the number of pages in the sitemap with the number indexed in search. 3) For each unindexed page, look for causes such as noindex, an incorrect canonical URL, or blocked access. 4) Prioritize the fixes. Do not change site code or settings until I approve.

Deliverables: issue list and evidence, repair order, and numbers to check again one week later. First inspect one signup event and only 3 pages to show the result format.
